Back Then…

I’m Stuart George and I have been a photographer for the past 7 years. Throughout my relatively short time in the industry, including the jobs I have been a part of, I have tried to experience all walks of photography. However it was the experiences I had with those jobs that have led me to develop my career down the events and commercial route. I now work alongside many corporate and wholesale companies, using my skills for interior and design in roomsets and product shots. My true love in photography, however, is creative lighting and how I use this in event and drinks photography, which I provide for many different events companies as well as bars, clubs, and restaurants.

Today…

I was born in Harlow, Essex in 1997 and - to be completely honest - for most of my life I had no idea what I wanted to do! When I got to sixth form at the age of 16/17 I still didn’t know what I was going to do with my life. University didn’t interest me and an office job was off the table, so after I finished school I travelled a little - mainly to South Africa - with nothing but my camera and some clothes. I volunteered at an elephant sanctuary in Knysna, where I realised I just want to take pictures. If something was interesting to me, I wanted to photograph it. This evolved into a passion for creative lighting and my commercial/events photography, where I am obsessed with manipulating light. From here I have built my career to what it is today, working with many different companies and showing how you can look at things differently when you change light.

I am a huge freestyle BMX fan - I’ve been riding for the last 10 years, learning new tricks and advancing in the sport, and since my photography journey began I have loved mixing BMX with photography. The best way I can describe shooting BMX photos to somebody who has no idea about BMX is that it is like you’re watching a dance - you want to capture all the extensions, the twists, the turns and the lifts, and you want to capture them at the very best point possible.
